Land Acknowledgement*
This performance is happening in Broward County, Florida, which is the occupied land of the ancestral stewards of the land, the Tequesta and Taino, as well as the current home to the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, and the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Despite occupation and displacement, The Seminole and Miccosukee peoples still live, work, and create in South Florida, while maintaining their culture, traditions, and sovereignty. Your donations to this performance today will support the efforts of the Miccosukee led "Love the Everglades" movement, support Everglades conservation efforts.
As dancers and creators, we know that there is value in embodied ways of knowing and taking action. This performance is part of how we do that, and we invite you to join us as you reflect, move, and respond today.

Together
Move and Reflect:
We each have our own kinesphere. Yet, as we move through this experience together, the group creates its own kinesphere. Additionally, every living creature on earth shares the kinesphere of the earth. As we walk, oscillate your awareness between your personal space, group space, and world. How does your energy change with your perception? What do you notice in your body? What stories do you tell yourself?

Move and Reflect:
Make a gesture or movement that means "letting go" to you, or means "mine". What do you let go of when you step into nature? What do you let go of when you step back into our urban, clock-time life? What do you need to let go, for your own peace? What do you claim when you step into nature? What do you need to claim, for your own peace?

Performer: Kalin BasfordChoreographer: Kalin Basford and Nicole Perry
Move and Reflect:
Legacies, ancestries, trees, and plants all come into being because of roots.Try walking toe-ball-heel for a few steps, and then heel-ball-toe. Feel your feet making momentary roots to the earth to support you. What would this feel like in a mangrove? On sand? In the grass? As you move today, reflect on your own roots, how you have uprooted, or planted new roots.
